Wau Adventures
Wau Adventures is a recently established adventure company deep in the heart of outback Papua New Guinea. Through running a retail store here for many years, we were always happy to provide guidance and assistance in relation to trekking and local sights, but it was soon clear that Wau needed a more reliable point of contact, and professional support services. In 2007, Wau Adventures’ launch was met with immediate success, and continues to prove to be the only place for full professional service.
Our aim is to meet the rapidly growing need for more thorough information, logistical support, and to present the unique local cultural attractions in a more accessible package to people from all walks of life. We are experienced in finding solutions for families looking for an interesting weekend away, through to international trekking groups on tight schedules.
If you simply need to update trail information, check flight and accommodation plans, or a full package including accredited leaders, medics and trainers, Wau Adventures can arrange everything to see your trip through efficiently and safely. We also have close relationships with a number of other tour operators in neighbouring regions if we’re not in the best position to assist with your enquiry.
Our people
Owner and operator, Tim Vincent, has lived in PNG for over 15 years developing a thorough cultural understanding and language ability. As an ex-Australian Army officer he has experience in remote project management, leadership and motivational ability, plus proven survival, safety and trail skills… coupled with a passion for the untouched PNG wilderness.
He can further call upon a number of highly experienced individuals and organisations, specializing in trekking, training, local wildlife, and conservation, to integrate into your adventure to maximise your PNG experience.
All employees of Wau Adventures, including the local guides and assistants we rely upon, are carefully selected and trained to meet your specific requirements, as well as dealing with a wide variety of possible scenarios. We endeavour to use people from the areas we travel through to ensure the benefits of your adventure are returned to those providing the experience.
